Easy Metal Jewelry

Hurray! It's official. The latest issue of Easy Metal Magazine just came out and I have four projects featured in it.

Editor Denise Peck was also nice enough to do an interview with me that appears in the issue as well. I talk about how I got started in the biz and what is currently inspiring me. Thanks so much for the feature. It was really awesome of you! It also features a reprint of my "Ode to Portable Torches" from Jewelry Making Daily.

Pearls of Wisdom

I love pearls. Pearl knotting is a great skill to have in your beading repertoire. The luscious look of a knotted pearl strand compliments any outfit.

Fresh from her vacation in Waukesha, WI, it's Wire Chandelier Earrings!

 They are happy to be home but had a great time at Wirework Magazine during their photo shoot.

 You thought Martha Stewart was difficult during a shoot? That's nothing compared to these babies. I think they used half of the Wirework budget with their demand for a 5-star hotel and swanky dinners.

Seriously, though. I am really pleased to be included in this special issue of Wirework Magazine. In addition to learning how to do this...

Is there anything more exciting...

...than seeing your jewelry on a cover of a magazine?

I chatted about being a cover girl a while back. It was really great to get my package in the mail from the editor all official-like. Opening it up and TAH-DAH, there it is.

So, of course, the next time I visited my mom we had to go on an adventure to hunt down the magazine in the wild. (I know the local craft store isn't TECHNICALLY the wild, but just humor me.)

The three of us... (my Pop came along for the ride. Look, they are retired and have a lot of time, plus dads like to drive around. You ever notice how they will just jump in the car and run to the store at the drop of a hat for, like, milk or a loaf of bread at the mere mention that supplies are getting low?) ...the three of us jumped in the car and headed for the nearest craft-super store.

We pulled up to the store and Pop stayed in the car. (Dads NEVER come in.) So Ma and I walk in and this is what happened.

...and we celebrated!

Before I left I rearranged the magazines so my cover was next to my friend Lisa's cover. That way they wouldn't be lonely.

Then we all went to the store and got milk and bread. It was a great adventure.

I'm a cover girl!

Whoohoo! On newstands now! I am so excited to have my Riveted Flower Rings featured on the cover of the latest edition of Step By Step Wire.

If you are looking for those beautiful glass flower beads that I used, They are part of Lampwork Bead Artist, Lisa Kan and you can find them on her website. I just love them!

If you would like to use those colorful metal flower components, you can find those at Glass Garden Beads.
